Recap: San Diego Cavers vs. Point Loma Pointers
If the San Diego Cavers were riding high off their 50-26 takedown of the University City Centurions last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. San Diego fell to Point Loma 44-40. San Diego was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Point Loma apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
San Diego lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Shanti Glenn, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Nitzel, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds and four blocks.
San Diego's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Point Loma, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Diego will take on Mira Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mira Mesa will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Point Loma, they will be playing at home against University City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully University City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
