Softball Recap: Middle Park Takes a Loss

Middle Park had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 5-10 to make it nine. They lost 21-7 to the Bennett Tigers. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Bennett, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

For Bennett's part, Macy Meyer was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Meyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Calli Mott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Middle Park is set to face off against their familiar foe Englewood at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bennett will take on rival Arvada at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
