Baseball Game Preview: Independence Mustangs vs. Center Point-Urbana Pointers

The Independence Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Center Point-Urbana Pointers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Independence came up short against Wahlert and fell 10-5. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Center Point-Urbana didn't have quite enough to beat North Linn on Wednesday and fell 9-8.

Center Point-Urbana's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Everything went Independence's way against Center Point-Urbana in their previous meeting back in June of 2025, as Independence made off with an 18-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
