Volleyball Recap: Central Valley Takes a Loss

Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the University Prep Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 2nd.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-10, 25-13.

University Prep can attribute much of their success to Maya Tabarez, who had 15 digs and two aces. What's more, Tabarez posted three assists, the most she's had since back in September. Campbell Cogle also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-28. As for University Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central Valley will challenge rival Yreka at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, University Prep is set to square off against their familiar foe Anderson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
