Softball Recap: St. Cecilia Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakeview, St. Cecilia was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Adams Central Patriots with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bluehawks, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Tatum Hawkinson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Maddison Bauer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

St. Cecilia's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Adams Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Cecilia will face off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Adams Central, they will square off against McCook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bison will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
