Soccer Game Preview: Esparto vs. Mesa Verde

The Esparto Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Mesa Verde Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Esparto is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Golden Sierra just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They and the Grizzlies finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Spartans happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 11th.

Meanwhile, Mesa Verde kept a clean sheet against San Juan on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 win.

Mesa Verde's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10-1. Esparto's draw makes their record 7-7-2 this season.

Everything went Esparto's way against Mesa Verde when the teams last played back in January, as Esparto made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Esparto since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
