Preview: Pittsburg vs. Antioch
The Pittsburg Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Antioch Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pittsburg's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pittsburg's offense. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 3-0 walloping at the hands of Liberty on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Antioch scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over Deer Valley. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Pittsburg's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11-1. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those three games. As for Antioch, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9-1.
