Baseball Recap: Orion Takes a Loss

While it was Orion who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Mendota who put up more. The Chargers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by just one run.

Orion's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Mendota, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orion will welcome Sherrard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mendota, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Newman Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The Comets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
