Softball Recap: Norwood Wins Going Away Against Stoutland

Norwood won the last time they faced Stoutland and things went their way on Monday too. The Pirates put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 8-2 victory.

Maddie Campbell made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. Campbell was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jayden Chambers was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Addy Gray was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Norwood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Stoutland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwood will square off against Early at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stoutland, they will take on Dixon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
