Moreau Catholic waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They strolled past the American Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 57-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-40 back in January.

Moreau Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaliya Kirkwood, who posted six points in addition to 23 boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Kirkwood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mahlaysia Atkins, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 12 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Moreau Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive matches.

Shirina Shi and Anika Batra certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Shi earned 19 points and five boards, while Batra went 7-for-13 en route to 15 points. That was a full 50% of American's points, marking the 16th time in a row Shi has had more than a third of the team's points.

Moreau Catholic's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for American, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-6.

Moreau Catholic has already played their next game, a 35-29 win against Irvington on the 14th. As for American, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-35 victory against Kennedy on the 14th.
