Soccer Game Preview: La Puente vs. Edgewood

The La Puente Warriors will face off against the Edgewood Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Puente's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, La Puente turned things around against Workman on Tuesday. Neither they nor the Lobos could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Warriors' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Edgewood entered their tilt with Pomona on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the Red Devils out 4-3.

Edgewood is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven matches. La Puente's draw makes their record 0-10-1 this season.

La Puente suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Edgewood in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can La Puente avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
