Basketball Recap: Leah Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oak Ridge over Clovis

Oak Ridge and Clovis squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Oak Ridge had to settle for second. They took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clovis Cougars. The Trojans have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah Harris, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards. Sofia Williams was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 21-11. As for Clovis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Oak Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clovis, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Clovis Cougars challenge Cardinal Newman Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cardinal Newman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
