Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Monday. Plattsburg came out on top in a nail-biter against DeKalb, sneaking past 2-0. The victory continues a trend for Plattsburg in their matchups with DeKalb: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past Penelope Irizarry, who gave up just four hits to keep DeKalb off the board.

On the hitting side, Plattsburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breckyn Boney, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The win got Plattsburg back to even at 5-5. As for DeKalb, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plattsburg will face off against East Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeKalb, they will take on Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
