Softball Recap: Wahlert Takes Down Ranked Cedar Falls

Wahlert faced Cedar Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-2 on Monday.

Wahlert pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Cedar Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Coming up, Wahlert will head out on the road to take on Linn-Mar at 5:30 p.m. on the 25th. Cedar Falls has already played their next game (against Iowa City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
