Volleyball Recap: Buena Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Buena had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Sahuaro Cougars.

The win didn't come easy: Sahuaro scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 27-25, 25-22.

Roddick Alvarez paced Buena's offense, picking up 15 kills. Alvarez got some help from Kade Spilsbury and his 27 assists. Finally, Thomas Welker kept Buena's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Buena's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12. As for Sahuaro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-17.

Looking ahead, Buena will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. Sahuaro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
