Bishop Diego picks up sixth straight win at home

The Bishop Diego Cardinals put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Valley Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 46-28. Given Bishop Diego's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Valley Christian Academy is ranked 969th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Diego was led to victory by Jaymi Coronado and Galilea De la cruz. Coronado scored 16 points, while De la cruz scored 20 points. The contest was De la cruz's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Diana Mendez was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.

Bishop Diego's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Valley Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Diego will face off against Santa Ynez at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Santa Maria is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
