Soccer Game Preview: La Cueva vs. Eldorado

The La Cueva Bears will square off against the Eldorado Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as La Cueva comes in on five and Eldorado on three.

La Cueva is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Sandia, who was ranked third at the time (La Cueva was ranked first). The Bears never let the Matadors get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Wednesday. La Cueva's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Christian Gerhardt, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Eldorado made sure to put some goals up on the board against Manzano on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Monarchs with a sharp 5-0 victory. With that win, Eldorado brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

Eldorado's victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for La Cueva, their win bumped their record up to 9-1-1.
