Baseball Recap: Morrison Takes a Loss

Morrison started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against River Ridge/Scales Mound. They fell 11-6 to the Wildcats on Monday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brayden Rubright stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson White, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Morrison's record now sits at 13-12. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Morrison will head out to take on Oregon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they will take on Lena-Winslow at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
