Softball Recap: Thompson Valley Drops Season-High Score on Prairie View

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thompson Valley). They came out on top against the Prairie View Thunderhawks by a score of 14-9 on Saturday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Lilly Reed made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Reed was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Thompson Valley let Madison Leyba and Lilah Aschenbrenner run wild. Leyba got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Aschenbrenner went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Aschenbrenner a new career-high. Traci Short also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Thompson Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prairie View only managed nine hits.

Thompson Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Prairie View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Thompson Valley will take on Poudre in a tournament on Saturday. As for Prairie View, they will face off against Wheat Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
