Football Game Preview: Osage City Indians vs. Riley County Falcons

The Osage City Indians will challenge the Riley County Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Osage City's defense has only allowed 12.7 points per game this season, so Riley County's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Osage City came up short against Silver Lake and fell 28-21. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dylan Theel, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 83 receiving yards and one TD. His longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Reed Silver was another key passer, throwing for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riley County). They walked away with a 40-32 victory over Hesston on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their eight-point performance the matchup before.

Riley County's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Osage City, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Osage City beat Riley County 41-28 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
