Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Skates Past San Pasqual with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Mt. Carmel's strategy against San Pasqual on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mt. Carmel Sundevils blew the San Pasqual Golden Eagles out of the water with a 65-23 final score. That looming 65-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sundevils yet this season.

Mt. Carmel found their leader in freshman Ariana Gonzalez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. Gonzalez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Randi Arcala, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Mt. Carmel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 41 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
