Basketball Recap: Neshannock Comes Up Short

Neshannock and Kennedy Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Neshannock had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 50-36 to Kennedy Catholic. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Kennedy Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Layke Fields, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Fields is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last 39 games she's played dating back to last season. Madison Pfleger was another key player, going 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points.

Neshannock's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Kennedy Catholic, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Neshannock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kennedy Catholic, they will square off against Bishop McCort on Friday. Bishop McCort will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Kennedy Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
