            Basketball Recap: Nevada Union Miners vs. Del Campo Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Nevada Union had to endure  a  six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Del Campo Cougars, posting  a  48-12 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  58-24  on January 8th.

Nevada Union was led to victory by  Elle Conway and  Ava Ban.  Conway  dropped  a double-double on 16  points and ten  rebounds, while  Ban  posted 14 points along with six  boards and three  steals. The dominant performance gave  Conway a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was  Shaela Applegate, who  scored seven  points.
 Nevada Union  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive boards. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Nevada Union's win  ended  a  six-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 5-14. As for Del Campo,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-16.
 Nevada Union will square off against Placer at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Placer will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  victory, something Nevada Union surely won't give up without a fight. As for Del Campo,  a feisty cat fight is on tap when  the Del Campo Cougars  challenge   the Roseville Tigers at 7:00  p.m.  on February 4th.
