Baseball Recap: Montgomery County Comes Up Short

Montgomery County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Hawkinsville Red Devils, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 last Tuesday.

Montgomery County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric White, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave White a new career-high. Taylor Scott also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Montgomery County's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Hawkinsville, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery County will challenge Treutlen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery County has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Hawkinsville, they will face off against Telfair County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawkinsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
