Preview: Pierz Pioneers vs. Esko Eskomos
Pierz has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Esko Eskomos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Pierz took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 60-16 win over Proctor. Given Pierz's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Proctor is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Esko put another one in the bag last Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Pine City onto the board and left with a 61-0 win.
Pierz has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Esko, their victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
