Pueblo Central has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pueblo Centennial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pueblo Centennial will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Pueblo Central extended their winning streak to nine on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past Pueblo East 22-5. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kaydence Martinez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charley Autobee was excellent, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Norah Montes was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Pueblo Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Pueblo Centennial and Pueblo South, and Pueblo Centennial kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 16-5 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the game before.
Pueblo Centennial let Olivia Aragon and Karley Zamarripa run wild. Aragon went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Zamarripa went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Remi Baca, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Pueblo Centennial now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Pueblo Central, their win bumped their record up to 17-3-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pueblo Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Pueblo Centennial struggles in that department as they've averaged .369. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
