Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chariton

Chariton waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Centerville Big Reds/Redettes, sneaking past 6-4. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Big Reds/Redettes, too.

Chariton pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Centerville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chariton is set to challenge their familiar foe Clarke at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Centerville will face off against rival Davis County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
