It's playoff time, and St. James Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 26-14 win over the Spring Hill Broncos on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Thunder, who have now won eight games in a row.

St. James Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake House led the charge by rushing for 108 yards and two scores. Another signal caller making a difference was John Hornback, who threw for 119 yards and one touchdown.

St. James Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Billy Burns.

Spring Hill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Wells, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one TD, and also threw for 31 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Miller handled things on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

St. James Academy's record is now 9-1. As for Spring Hill, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, St. James Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Mill Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
