Soccer Game Preview: Santa Catalina vs. Seaside

The Santa Catalina Cougars will head out to take on the Seaside Spartans at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Santa Catalina will be strutting in after a win while Seaside will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Santa Catalina turned things around against Greenfield on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruins, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, Seaside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 5-0 to Stevenson.

Seaside's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Santa Catalina, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4-1 and their overall record up to 3-6-1.

Santa Catalina came up short against Seaside in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 4-2. Can Santa Catalina avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
