Basketball Game Preview: Sacramento Waldorf Waves vs. Sacramento Adventist Capitals

Sacramento Waldorf hasn't had much luck against Sacramento Adventist recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sacramento Waldorf Waves will square off against the Sacramento Adventist Capitals at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sacramento Waldorf is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They breezed past Lodi Academy to the tune of 50-13. The victory was nothing new for the Waves as they're now sitting on 15 straight.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Adventist made easy work of Foresthill on Thursday and carried off a 53-31 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Capitals.

Sacramento Waldorf better focus on containing Gwen Rosich and Kyla Friedrich as the pair were huge in Sacramento Adventist's win. Rosich dropped a triple-double with 16 points, 11 boards, and 13 steals, while Friedrich went 8-for-14 to rack up 19 points and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Friedrich has scored at least a third of Sacramento Adventist's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Rodriguez, who posted five points and six steals.

Sacramento Adventist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Sacramento Waldorf's record is now 22-5. As for Sacramento Adventist, their record now sits at 20-6.

Things could have been worse for Sacramento Waldorf, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-21 loss to Sacramento Adventist when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Sacramento Waldorf avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
