Soccer Game Preview: Minarets vs. Fowler

Minarets hasn't had much luck against Fowler recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Redcats at 6:00 p.m. Minarets will be strutting in after a victory while Fowler will be coming in after a loss.

Minarets will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Corcoran on Wednesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Minarets' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Fowler fell victim to Sanger West and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Fowler have lost by just one goal.

Fowler's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Minarets, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-2.

Minarets suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Fowler in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
