Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Montgomery vs. St. Mary's Academy

The Bishop Montgomery Knights will take on the St. Mary's Academy Belles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Montgomery knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully St. Mary's Academy likes a good challenge.

If Bishop Montgomery beats St. Mary's Academy with four goals on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Bishop Montgomery was the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over St. Monica on Thursday. Considering the Knights have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit St. Monica with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Natasha Zuvic (2), Kendall Mckechnie, and Gabby Garibeh.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Academy didn't have quite enough to beat St. Anthony on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Belles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop Montgomery pushed their record up to 8-5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five games. As for St. Mary's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11-3.

Everything went Bishop Montgomery's way against St. Mary's Academy in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as Bishop Montgomery made off with a 4-0 victory.
