The Higbee Tigers will head out to challenge the Atlanta Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Higbee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Glasgow hit Higbee with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 8-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Kiersten Rockett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

Meanwhile, Atlanta lost 14-4 to Green City on Monday.

Atlanta saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiyana Payton, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Whitney Baker was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Atlanta dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Higbee, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Higbee came out on top in a nail-biter against Atlanta in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
