Nebraska Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Nebraska Lutheran took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Osceola by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40.

It was another big night for Rebecca Hueske, who posted nine points and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ann Prigge, who had seven points.
Meanwhile, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley slipped by Twin River 47-46 on Tuesday.
Nebraska Lutheran better keep an eye on Hayley Sliva. She was instrumental in Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's win, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Emma Hoins was another key player, putting up 16 points.
Bruning-Davenport/Shickley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Nebraska Lutheran now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Nebraska Lutheran has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Bruning-Davenport/Shickley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
