Basketball Game Preview: Lawndale Cardinals vs. Beverly Hills Normans

Lawndale is 2-8 against Beverly Hills since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lawndale Cardinals will host the Beverly Hills Normans at 5:00 p.m. Lawndale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Lawndale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Hawthorne for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-4 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Telayia Fuller was her usual excellent self, going 15 of 26 on her way to 34 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalani Pearson, who went 9 for 20 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven steals and six boards.

Lawndale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Beverly Hills came up short against Hoover on Saturday and fell 41-28.

Beverly Hills has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Lawndale, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
