Baseball Game Preview: Central Lions vs. Northside Patriots

For the second straight game, Central will face off against Northside. The Lions will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Central came up short against Northside and fell 6-2.

For Northside's part, Sam Laney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. Laney has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brody Wells was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Reese Adams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Northside has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.
