Football Recap: Central Bucks East Keeps North Penn's Under Pressure

Central Bucks East lost against North Penn back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patriots fell 31-20 to the Knights. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Patriots, who until this matchup were averaging 14.5 points allowed.

Despite the defeat, Central Bucks East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hunter Pulford rushed for 110 yards and three scores, and also threw for 109 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 110 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Pulford.

Even if they lost, Central Bucks East's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Magnus Figueroa and Dan Kirk, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Figueroa was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Central Bucks East's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for North Penn, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-2.

Central Bucks East has already played their next contest, a 49-7 victory against Abington on the 3rd. As for North Penn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-7 win against Central Bucks South on the 3rd.
