Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. Madera South Stallions
The Madera Coyotes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Madera South Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, Madera was not quite Mendota's equal in the second half on Saturday. Madera fell just short of Mendota by a score of 26-24. Having soared to a lofty 66 points in the game before, Madera couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Madera South really took it to Woodlake for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-11 victory on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Madera South.
Madera South's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 19 points. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which LORTA has scored at least 25% of Madera South's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JALISSA KIRKPATRICK, who scored 13 points.
Their wins bumped Madera to 5-4 and Mendota to 9-3.
Madera came up short against Madera South when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 39-33. Thankfully for Madera, Mayra Ceballos (who scored 17 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
