Baseball Recap: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Academy of Richmond County Musketeers

Columbus extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Academy of Richmond County. Everything went their way against the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers as they made off with an 11-1 win. The victory was familiar territory for Columbus who now have seven in a row.

Jack Brown spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Will Taylor was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Bryans, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and a double.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Academy of Richmond County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Columbus is on the road again on Monday to play Mary Persons. Academy of Richmond County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
