Soccer Game Preview: Alhambra vs. Campolindo

Alhambra is 1-8-1 against Campolindo since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Alhambra Bulldogs will challenge the Campolindo Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Campolindo took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Alhambra, who comes in off a win.

Alhambra will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Berean Christian on Saturday. Alhambra blew past Berean Christian 4-0. Considering the Bulldogs' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Campolindo challenged Ukiah on Saturday. Campolindo fell just short of Ukiah by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Wildcats are ranked 272nd).

The win got Alhambra back to even at 3-3-1. As for Campolindo, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Alhambra came up short against Campolindo when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Alhambra avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
