Softball Recap: Cass Comes Up Short

Cass came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to the Nebraska City Pioneers. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 13-5 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cass saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Gaston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Cass' loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Nebraska City, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Cass will head out to take on North Bend Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nebraska City, they will host Malcolm at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
