Football Recap: Cary Christian Takes Down Wake Christian Academy in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Cary Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 49-8 win over the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.

Reed Harvey produced another solid effort throwing for 292 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 56 yards. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cennoth Kalisiak, who picked up 55 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Cary Christian, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kalisiak, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Cary Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Philip Wentz and Andrew Cesarz.

The victory made it two in a row for Cary Christian and bumps their season record up to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Wake Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Cary Christian will take on John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 40.1 points per game this season. Wake Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
