Football Game Preview: Texico Wolverines vs. Navajo Prep Eagles + How To Watch

The Texico Wolverines will face off against the Navajo Prep Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Texico sitting on five straight victories and Navajo Prep on three.

Texico is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Tularosa 53-0. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Cross Figg had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 116 receiving yards and three scores, while also rushing for 57 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Bennett Wahlen was another key signal caller, throwing for 156 yards and four TDs on only six passes.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Navajo Prep walked away with it. They walked away with a 22-13 victory over the Panthers on Friday.

Navajo Prep's win came from a few key players Texico will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aden Clah, who threw for 197 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Navajo Prep also got a significant boost from Dallas Wilson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

Navajo Prep's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Texico, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Texico against Navajo Prep in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
