Softball Recap: Lithonia Comes Up Short at Home Against Redan

Lithonia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Redan Raiders on Monday, falling 28-12. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lithonia got a massive performance out of Kayla Washington, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Nifemi Jayeoba was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Redan has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lithonia will welcome Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Redan, they will take on Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
