Soccer Game Preview: La Sierra vs. Centennial

The La Sierra Eagles will take on the Centennial Huskies in a tournament on Friday. La Sierra's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

La Sierra fell victim to Hemet and their airtight defense on Saturday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Bulldogs an easy 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, Centennial hasn't lost a match since December 1st, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They never let El Modena get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given Centennial's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while El Modena are ranked 504th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-3. As for Centennial, their record is now 6-1-1.

La Sierra couldn't quite get it done against Centennial when the teams last played back in December of 2019 as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
