Recap: Jeannette Jayhawks vs. Hillel Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burrell, the Jeannette Jayhawks were happy to have found some success on Monday. They put the hurt on Hillel Academy with a sharp 46-23 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Jeannette, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Jeannette's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Venicia Vignoli led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vignoli has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Adriana Allison, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Jeannette's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Hillel Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.

Jeannette will play host again and welcome St. Joseph, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Joseph's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 contests. Hillel Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
