Recap: Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans vs. Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy Cougars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy with a sharp 43-20 win. Given Rio Lindo Adventist's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 626th, while the Cougars are ranked 1347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Rio Lindo Adventist to victory were Kaia Miller and Chitalu Munanga. Miller scored 13 points along with four steals, while Munanga scored seven points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Munanga is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Belen Hernandez, who scored seven points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Rio Lindo Adventist is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Rio Lindo Adventist won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Summerfield Waldorf will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
