Volleyball Recap: Tipton Takes a Loss

Tipton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Kokomo Wildkats, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildkats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Tipton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-17.

Kelyn Everling paced Tipton's offense, picking up six kills. Everling got some help from Shelby Fernung and her nine assists.

Kokomo had a senior duo take command as Torre Willis had seven digs and three blocks and Tia Williams had 12 digs and one assist. Willis is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Kokomo, their record is now 7-9.

Coming up, Tipton is taking a road trip to challenge Frankfort at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kokomo, they will welcome Lafayette Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
