Basketball Recap: Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bellwood-Antis + How To Watch

Central had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-8 to make it six. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils. On the bright side, the 52- point performance marked the Dragons' highest-scoring game to date.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Addie Imes, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. Imes is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Marah Diehl was another key player, going 6-for-11 on her way to 12 points.

As for Bellwood-Antis, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Central is ranked 403rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lilly Gerwert was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 32 points and 17 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bellwood-Antis' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Sloey, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-22 win against Bald Eagle Area on the 9th. As for Bellwood-Antis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-35 defeat against Bishop Guilfoyle on the 9th.
