Basketball Recap: Mia Ronan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Hubert Catholic for Girls over Conwell-Egan Catholic

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls lost against Conwell-Egan Catholic back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. St. Hubert Catholic for Girls fell 48-41 to the Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles. St. Hubert Catholic for Girls has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several St. Hubert Catholic for Girls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Ronan, who posted nine points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca D'Andrea, who earned six points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, St. Hubert Catholic for Girls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Conwell-Egan Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Milewski, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Milewski is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brianna Jackson, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Hubert Catholic for Girls will welcome Cardinal O'Hara at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Nazareth Academy at 7:00 p.m.
